Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado was our eighth National Park on this trip. It was a quick and steep drive from our camp in Montrose up to the canyon rim. The South Rim Campground was a nice wooded spot with electric hookups but no water so we had to haul our own.
The Canyon is steep and deep allowing very little light in and gives it its name. It’s one of the newest National Parks and is fairly small which allows you to drive to most of the viewpoints on the South Rim in one day. Good news for the short attention spans of the Tango crew. Lucy was also welcome on the rim trail and viewpoints.
Can’t wait to go in Aug.
