We left Mesa Verde and headed North up scenic highway 145. What a beautiful drive with leafy green aspen trees, green meadows, following streams, and 14,000 foot rugged mountains. We stayed in Matterhorn Forest Service Campground about 20 minutes outside of Telluride. A very nice spot but a bit chilly at night due to its 9,500 feet elevation.
We headed into Telluride for a bit to eat and a pint or two. Telluride is a Victorian mining town in a box canyon surrounded by mountains that was turned into a ski resort. It boasts a free gondola that takes you up to private mountain village.
It ia ALL so beautiful, including the chic!
Indeed.
Wow, we want to go. Great pics. asichler
