Places…

The question of where is my hometown has always been a tough one to answer. I’ve lived in:

• Sacramento, CA
• Stockton, CA
• Anchorage, AK
• Hillsboro, OR
• Yamhill, OR
• Eugene, OR
• Brooklyn, NY
• Portland, OR
• Santa Monica, CA
• Redondo Beach, CA
• and now Palm Springs, CA

My Parents weren’t in the military or fugitives from the law but seemed to have a touch of wanderlust or a desire to find some place better. They knew they didn’t like LA where they grew up so they started moving North until they reached Alaska and decided that was too far North and settled on Oregon. Now that they’re retired they spend part of the year roaming around in increasingly larger RV’s.

So when someone asks me where I’m from, I have to stop and consider the places I’ve lived and also the places I visited.
