Moab is famous for it’s slickrock mountain biking. Today I got my first taste of riding on slickrock at the Moab Brands Trail by our campsite. The trail is a painted line on the rock and has great views of Arches National Park and the red bluffs behind us. Thankfully I have a full-suspension bike […]

Arches National Park
We are outside of Moab, Utah. Yesterday we drove into Arches National Park and took a quick stroll to Double Arch and then went into Moab for supplies. We had a tasty lunch at the Moab Brewery. Why does Jaime always make me go to these brew pubs;)? Today we hiked up to Delicate Arch […]
Capitol Reef National Park
We’ve spent the past three days staying at a nice RV park outside of Capitol Reef and exploring the area during the day when the weather allows. The afternoon thunderstorms have been consistent. Alien looking petroglyphs are easily accessible from the highway.
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Utah
We loaded up in the Tundra yesterday and drove 12 miles on a dirt road into Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument to hike Devil’s Garden. There’s a couple of arches and very cool rock formations to explore. Since it’s BLM land and not a National Park we were able to take Lucy and she loved the […]
Kodachrome State Park, Utah
The sun finally came out. Thunder clouds were still threatening to rain down on us though so Jaime and Lucy stayed at camp while I did some Mtn. biking at Kodachrome State Park nearby. Yes, Utah rocks!
A Cool Day at Bryce Canyon National Park
The weather has turned to rainy and cold. We drove into Bryce Canyon National Park and went quickly from truck to overlook and back. The last point was over 9000 feet and very windy. We would like to explore Escalante National Monument next but have to wait the rain out. Hope all enjoy the long […]
Great Day of Hiking in Zion
Today I took the shuttle into Zion and hiked Angels Landing. Probably one of the best hikes I’ve done. Another great feature of the park built long before one could sue the government successfully. The trail starts on the Virgin River and climbs up through a sieres of switchbacks to small canyon and a set […]
Zion National Park
We left Page, AZ this morning, crossed the Glen Canyon Dam and headed into Utah. The scenery was pretty but the road was rough and it was windy with scattered thunderstorms. When we reached Zion National Park the road narrowed even more. This part looks to be carved through solid red rock but is extremely […]
Grand Canyon National Park
We just got into Page, AZ after 5 days at the Grand Canyon. We had a great time, the weather was perfect and the canyon of course grand. We did a couple of days hiking around the rim trail with Lucy soaking in the sights. Very surreal… and that was just the outfits some of […]
Kingman, AZ
Staying a couple of nights outside Kingman, AZ. Not too much to see here except for signs that say it was once part of Route 66. Heading to the Grand Canyon tomorrow morning.
