Lake Powell

After getting smoked out of our Grand Canyon boondocking spot, we headed North to Lake Powell.

We had stayed a night in Page, AZ in 2009 on our Tango Trailer tour but hadn’t really explored the area. This time we camped at Lone Rock just across the Utah border. The Park Service lets you camp on the beach but the wind was blasting sand so we opted for a gravel lot with nice views of the lake.

The weather calmed down so I blew up our boards and we did some paddling on the lake.

The water looks inviting but was pretty cold.

A quick trip back through Page took us to the famous Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River. The place was mobbed with tourists but is still pretty spectacular.

great pictures, especially of the photographer taking a pic of the canyon. It’s been fun watching you touring in the Bago. Keep the adventures coming.

  3. Beautiful pictures Scott. We haven’t yet spent much time in Utah. One of these day…

    1. Thanks. Utah is awesome. We have done all 5 parks but still a lot to see.
