We have made it to the Rio and back to Island Time at Tortugal Marina – www. tortugal.com. The town of Fronteras is close by and features many little stores and open markets to stock up on supplies and food. The main road passes right through town with a choatic mixture of trucks, people, bikes and cars trying to squeeze through the narrow street.
Rio Dulce is an interesting place full of marinas, boats from around the world, and characters – either not wanted where they are from or are. The river is used as a hurricane refuge during the same but some boats have entered the river and never left.
We are working on the boat and getting ready to head to Belize. Soon… maybe. Gotta run. Have to crank Capt. Jim up the mast to replace a bulb.
